Stephen McCarthy is a Partner/Executive Producer at Quixotic Endeavors (QE) where, along with Clive Gershon, he is responsible for managing QE’s business activities – including marketing/ distribution/investor relations – and directly involved in producing the firm’s slate of movies To date, he has been an EP on five QE films – Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf, Crazy About Tiffany’s, Harry Benson: Shoot First, Always at The Carlyle and Alan Pakula: Going For Truth.

Steve is the Managing Director of KCG Capital Advisors, a family investment office/foundation administration venture that he co-founded with his late father, John M. “Jack” McCarthy, a former Co-Managing Partner/CIO of Lord Abbett ($185 billion AUM partnership est. 1929). He has forty-five years of diversified professional experience in the fields of investment/philanthropy/ entrepreneurship/theater and has held senior executive positions in the strategic planning, credit/risk management, business consulting, capital markets and retail brokerage arenas at UBS/PaineWebber, BOA/Security Pacific, Deloitte, Citibank and Pru-Bache respectively.

An honors graduate of Chaminade HS, Mr. McCarthy received a Bachelor of Arts in dual majors – Economics and Government – from Wesleyan University, was granted a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and completed an EE Certificate Program in Entrepreneurship/ Venture Capital Investing at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Stephen is trustee of his family’s 33-year-old private foundation, represented his clan as a long-time member of the Institute for Private Investors (IPI), is a founding member/original trustee of The Greenwich Roundtable (GR) and a cofounder of The Gotham Triangle (TGT). In addition, he is President of Shaking The Tree (STT) Interactive Productions (www.shakingthetree.org). He and his wife Kathleen live in Rye, NY and have two adult children.
